Phewa Lake Environment Awareness and Capacity Building Project organized a one-day training program on Household Waste Management and Compost Training in ward no. 17- Birauta of Pokhara Sub-metropolitan City on 8th February 2007 with the support of Siddhartha Environment Improvement Committee. Altogether 52 women took part in the training. Similar kind of training was given to women from Bagale tole, Prem Marga, Kunwar Tole area of ward no. 8 with support of Prithivi Environment Improvement Committee on February 20 and March 4.

In this training program, segregation of Household waste, its management and the process of making Compost fertilizer was demonstrated. Community Development Officer Mrs. Kalpana Baral, Field coordinator Ms. Kamala Gurung and Technical Assistant Ms. Sabita Tamang conducted the training.
