		Project Activities





Community Initiatives
Project has formed LEIC in all the wards of the PSMC. Those activities which is categorized by the project are considered as Set activities. A profile of the CBOs working in Phewa Lake conservation will be prepared. Existing groups will be analyzed spatially including their operational status. Groups will be reformed and formed in the areas where they do not exist and where occupational groups are not found organized. Whereas LEIC is supposed to play a main role as a unit and focal point to implement activities of the project, CBOs are expected to function as a community mobilizer and to implement some of the activities under LEIC.

Set Activities
Those activities which the community will find themselves and submit to the Local Environment improvement Committees. To promote action-oriented awareness and capacity building in Lake Conservation, the project will provide support for Community Initiative activities. It is expected that LEIC will mobilize local resources for the cost sharing which is shown in the table below. The support from the project will be depending upon the degree of contribution to the environmental improvement of Phewa Lake. The support from the project has its ceiling based on the number of households in the ward. Based on these criteria resources available in the ward and framework, LEIC has to prioritize Community Initiative Activities (CI).
